Used in glazes and coatings to provide alumina and silica.

Added in larger quantities, it acts as a matting agent.

Also used in the composition of white pastes at both low and high temperatures.

Kaolin is a primary clay formed by the decomposition of feldspar, very refractory (its melting point exceeds 1800°C), it is mainly used in the composition of glazes.
