Copper lustre
Firing temperature : 750-820°C
Liquid lusters
The lusters are compositions containing different metals that will result in bright films with different colors (blue, pink, orange, brown, pearl…).
The lusters can be applied either on porcelain or glass to add different colors to the piece to be decorated.
APPLICATION METHOD:
- Application of the luster:
- Brush: Put the liquid from the bottle into a small container. Deep a brush into the liquid and apply the product on the substrate to be decorated. If the product is too viscous (thick), add the diluent D 75 and mix it with the same brush. Keep adding the diluent until the desired viscosity, but do not add more than 5% of it.
- Spray: Put the liquid from the bottle into the reservoir of the spraying gun. Apply the product keeping a distance of 15 - 20 cm. If the product is not going through the spraying gun or dripping after spraying on the substrate, remove it from the reservoir and bottle and place it into a container. Add the diluent D 74 to reduce the viscosity and to apply a thinner layer of material (more transparent color). If the color is too weak, apply more times the product with the spray trying to avoid dripping of the product.
- Firing of the decorated piece:
- Glass: After decorating the piece, place it in the kiln. The recommended firing temperature is 600 – 620 °C. There is not specific time to go from room temperature to the peak temperature. But between 30 min and 2 h is the standard time. Also, we recommend a soak time of 5-10 min, specially if the maximum firing temp is in the lower range (600 ºC)
- Porcelain: After decorating the piece, place it in the kiln. The recommended firing temperature is 780 – 840 °C. There is not specific time to go from room temperature to the peak temperature. But between 30 min and 2 h is the standard time. Also, keeping the maximum temperature for 5 – 15 min is desired, especially if the maximum firing temperature is in the lower range (780ºC).
