Notre histoire

SOLARGIL is a company specializing in the field of ceramics and high temperatures, producer and manufacturer, a unique feature in Europe.
Created in 1985 by Louis-Eric and Marie-Laure Solano on the site of the family pottery in Puisaye, its origins date back to 1595.

ProductEur & Extracteur

From the Beaux-Arts quarry, located in Saint-Amand in Puisaye, ocher sand, pure yellow ocher and hematite are extracted as pigments and especially the Grès de Saint-Amand, better known under the name of GSA, THE Solargil sandstone.

Fabriquant

A wide range of ceramic bodies, Xing, GBL UK, Jasmin, etc., is therefore made in Burgundy thanks to our production and innovation manager in this area. With the creation of a workshop dedicated to the construction of ovens, Alain Solano anchors the company in a research and performance approach serving industry, artistic craft professionals and individuals. Our technicians are capable of manufacturing resistors and repairing all brands of towers and ovens.

Solargil advises you and ensures quality follow-up thanks to the skills of its team made up of qualified ceramists and technicians, 4 stores in France, several resellers and a presence which continues to grow in Europe and beyond.

Our desire to support and promote young creation materializes with the creation of the Solargil Prize, awarded every two years during the Printemps des Potiers in Bandol. An award of €2,500 which allows the winner to equip themselves through our catalog with a complete and rigorous range of clays, enamels, dyes, tools, equipment and ovens.
