Ilmenite is mainly used to modify texture and produce stains or flecks in pastes, glazes and coverings.

ILMENITE - FERROUS TITANIUM

The grade normally used in ceramics is the coarse-grained one, which is why, when added to ceramic bodies and glazes, it produces the typical marbling.

By using small quantities, for example 2%, with rutile, you can obtain the typical glazes with segregations.

Ilmenite usually sows titanium recrystallizations in the appropriate glazes.
