SPATH FLUOR
Spath Fluor (Fluorine- Fluorure de Calcium)
Ref : SPATH
Fluorspar
Ref : SPATH
A vigorous flux used as a source of calcium in glazes.
In low temperature glazes it has tendency to cause bubbling due to volatilisation of fluorine.
Fluorite or also called SPATH FLUOR is also used in the ceramic industry as an opacifier for glazes.
Fluorspar has to be used precisely, since an incorrect dosage can cause the enamel to boil.
It is also used in the glass industry: opal glass, fiberglass, special glasses.
FLUORSPAR - FLUORITE - CALCIUM FLUORIDE
At low temperatures, it behaves as a powerful melting agent.
It is used as a matting agent in glazes when added in the correct proportions during the grinding process.
The fluorine it contains can cause a pimple in the enamel.
