Special talc 00

Talc 00 is mainly used in ceramic glazes.

TALC SPECIAL 00 - MAGNESIUM SILICATE HYDRATE

In glazes, it is used as a secondary flux, and the addition of high percentages produces a semi-matt opaque with a silky aspect.

CaO= 0.02 Ai2O3 = 0.02

MgO= 0.98 Fe2O3= 0.01

A material used in all types of glazes to produce typical magnesium effects i.e. in large quantities, opacity and vellum texture. Having low expansion and contraction it can cure crazing.

A Magnesium based low calcium talc (French Chalk/Soapstone), white firing used primarily as a body/glaze flux creates a low thermal expansion and will help with thermal shock.
