PYCNOMETRE 100cm3 EN ACIER INOX
PYCNOMETER 100CC IN STAINLESS STEEL
Ref : PYC100
Pycnometer 100 CC in stainless steel
Dimensions: Height 70 mm Diameter 45 mm
Weight : 200 gr
Use :
A pycnometer is used to measure (at a given temperature) a density of a product whether it is liquid or solid.
The pycnometer is composed of :
a 100cc volumetric flask
a pierced stopper
When the stopper is adjusted on the flask, the overflow of liquid escapes through the upper end of the tube. The volume can then be determined with great accuracy.
It is the difference in weight between the volume of the empty vial (known volume) and the full vial that will allow us to determine the density by calculation.
The density of a product is equal to the ratio between its mass and the volume it occupies.
The density is expressed in kg/m3.
The calibration of the pycnometer (determination of the volume of the liquid contained by this last) is carried out using distilled water. The density of this water at 23°C is 0.9976 g-cm-3.
